The Mondeo came home when I was 15. Later, at 18, I was finally able to drive it and thus the modding fest began.
By that point, all my knowledge about driving and “car decoration” came from intensive workshops and famous webinars you all may also be familiar with, called “Need for Speed” and “Forza Motorsport”, so I decided to have a go in real life.
I was already browsing on eBay back then, but ordering something from the United Kingdom all the way to the Azores by myself still felt daunting, and my anxiety couldn’t cope. So, plan B quickly became the Ford options booklet. It had some fancy stuff to start and choose from – albeit expensive! – but I decided to play it safe, and it seemed the right way to go.
Since the Mondeo is Titanium Black and I was quite a fan of the polished side mirror covers Audi had then, I picked a pair of chrome ones. Without breaking the bank and having a very easy fit, they somehow make the car look a little bit wider by making the side mirrors obviously more present.
This was also where I got my monochrome taste from, even though now I do it in a reverse way.
How to Fit
1 – Thoroughly clean and dry the outside stock mirror cover;
2 – Remove the protective backing from the double-sided tape on the new chrome covers;
3 – Align the chrome covers with the original mirror covers and press firmly for a few minutes;
4 – Enjoy the shine!
